The owner of Winding Trails Farm, John lives on site and is the primary caretaker of the horses here. John considers it a privilege to be able to care for their comfort and well-being each day. As part of that personal care and attention, he handles any custom nutritional needs, medications if needed, as well as appointments for all farrier, dental and veterinary work for owners who need that service. Krista is skilled in a variety of equine disciplines. In addition to training, Krista teaches lessons, English and Western, as well as structured courses she designed for new horse riders, existing riders and those who wish to learn how we teach. Krista’s excitement for teaching led to her being the leader of the local county equine 4-H group that meets monthly. Ken’s enthusiasm and love of horses is obvious from the moment you meet him. Ken is part of all operations at Winding Trails and his knowledge and passion is integral to the excellent care of the horses. Ken’s efforts to share how horses can enhance our lives is the reason clinics and programs will be expanding at WInding Trails.
Montana has worked at Winding Trails for the last 2.5 years. She will be graduating this spring from SUNY Morrisville’s equine science bachelor degree program with an equine rehabilitation therapy concentration. The college has state of the art therapies that include an underwater treadmill and indoor swimming pool. Montana loves to share and talk about what she has learned there with all horse enthusiasts. She is spending her last semester working at an equine therapeutic center in Virginia and will return in the summer.
